Paris guide
Getting to Paris
The capital Paris has two large airports, Orly which is 11km to the south and Charles de Gaulle (CDG) also known as Roissy which is 23km to the north. Roissy is the second largest airport in Europe. Buses operate from both airports to the centre of Paris (Roissybus, Orlybus) as well as a suburban train called RER. Take Linie B3 for CDG and B4 for Orly.
Other important regional airports are: Bordeaux, Lille, lyon, Marseille, Montpelier, Mulhouse, Nantes, Nizza, Strasbourg and Toulouse.
Money
Banks are generally open from 9:00 till 17:00 and in smaller towns they
can be closed over lunch. The easiest way to get money is through the
cashpoint machines (ATMs) but be aware the bank is likely to apply a
charge of around 1% and at least 3 euro. Credit cards are accepted
virtually everywhere in France though in smaller hotels, or restaurants
you can often only pay with cash.
How much does that cost?
Baguette 1 Euro at the bakers
Coffee from 1.60 Euro for an espresso
Ice-cream 2-4 Euro for a scoop
Wine from 3.50 Euro for a glass in a bistro
Car toll around 6.50 Euro per 100km on the motorway
