Non-EU visitors can get a tax refund on purchases of over EUR 305
in any one establishment by obtaining a form at the relevant shop
and presenting it to customs on departure.
Paris is as well one of the leading cities in the world of luxuries
and fashion. Perfumes, cosmetics and fashion-design world-brands enlighten
the city and attract the interest of connoisseur visitors.
If you are looking for rare furniture or small items, the Flea-markets
or Auction Sales may attract their attention. Rare items, beautiful or
even astonishing ones, art paintings or jewelry, all that can be found
in Paris, at la Salle Drouot or at the Flea Makets depending on where
you feel to go.
Flea markets
The flea markets are among the most famous markets of Paris. Nevertheless
this diversity spreads over a large area and the flea markets are therefore
located at the ancient gates of the city (porte de Vanves or Saint-Ouen).
Among lots of stuff, you will probably discover whatever you want, even
if you did not know what you were looking for.
Everything can be found there from leather jackets to ancient pieces
of furniture. It is therefore not surprising that antique or second-hand
dealers from the provinces come to flea markets to buy their own stock.
